Lamai Walking Street

Lamai Walking Street is held every Sunday from 5pm till midnight on Hat Lamai Road between the fresh market and the bridge in the northeastern part of the beach resort. For this weekly event the road is closed off to traffic and turns into a bustling riot of colours, sounds and scents. Access before the outdoor market is a little chaotic whilst the sellers arrive to set up their stalls. Locally known as Lamai Jai Dee Walking Street, meaning Lamai Kind Hearted Walking Street, it is very popular with tourists and locals alike. Each of the different stall owners are here to sell either clothes, handicrafts, fresh produce, local street food or a variety of consumer goods.
